Postpartum & Maternity Curation
Private Client 01

During the client’s postpartum period, her body was changing more quickly than her wardrobe could accommodate. Clothing that had previously felt effortless became uncomfortable, unflattering or difficult to rely upon.
Dressing had become another decision during an already demanding stage of life. The client needed appropriate clothing for everyday routines while adjusting to new physical requirements, reduced energy and the practical realities of caring for a baby.
Conventional shopping would have introduced further demands. Travelling to appointments, trying on large numbers of garments and repeatedly explaining changing requirements were not experiences the client wanted during this period.
The wardrobe needed to provide immediate comfort and ease without requiring the client to abandon her personal style or feel pressured to dress for a body she no longer had.

We began with a private consultation and fitting at the client’s residence. This allowed her current proportions, comfort preferences and daily requirements to be considered without travel or the pressure of a conventional retail environment.
The existing wardrobe was reviewed to identify what remained comfortable, what could be adapted and what was better preserved for a later stage. Pieces that no longer served the client were removed from active view rather than becoming a daily reminder of physical change.
A flexible wardrobe was then curated around the client’s present needs. Soft, breathable fabrics, adaptable silhouettes and considered construction allowed pieces to accommodate continued change while remaining refined and consistent with her established style.
Private fittings and alterations were coordinated with sensitivity. The focus remained on how each garment felt and functioned at that moment, rather than on sizing or any expectation of returning to previous proportions.
Complete combinations were prepared to reduce daily decision-making. The active wardrobe contained reliable looks that could be reached for easily, allowing the client to dress comfortably without having to reconsider fit and proportion each morning.
The wardrobe was designed to remain fluid. Existing pieces could be reintroduced gradually, while further alterations or additions could be arranged as the client’s body, routine and preferences continued to evolve.
-
The client gained a wardrobe that worked with her body rather than asking her to work around it.
Dressing became considerably easier. Comfortable, flattering combinations were already available, reducing the time and energy previously spent deciding what could still be worn.
Appointments at the client’s residence removed the physical and emotional pressure of conventional shopping. The entire process could be managed privately, discreetly and around the realities of early motherhood.
Most importantly, the wardrobe restored a sense of familiarity. The client could feel like herself without ignoring the changes she was experiencing or being encouraged to rush through them.

“Having clothes that adapted with me gave me back a sense of normality. I spent less time worrying about what I could wear and more time focusing on my baby and myself. That had a surprisingly positive effect on my confidence and energy.”
